İftira

Melih arrives at a mountain village to take up his post as a doctor. The health centre’s only other employee is the cleaner, and the villagers are wary of him. An encounter with a sick cow leaves him with a nickname: the novice doctor.

Sibel, a little girl who keeps visiting the health centre, is one of the few people who talks to him freely. As he becomes closer to her mother, Elif, the villagers’ suspicions grow. When Sibel disappears, they turn on him and the gendarmerie steps in.

İftira is Turkish for slander.
