Privacy Policy — IKIgai

Last updated: June 2026

Thank you for using IKIgai. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information. The short version: IKIgai does not collect, store, or share any personal data.

1. Who we are

IKIgai is developed by JJ Bros Studio. Contact: ertu@jjbrosstudio.com

2. What data IKIgai collects

None. IKIgai does not collect any personal information. Specifically:

  • No account or sign-up is required

  • No name, email address, or contact details are collected

  • No location data is accessed or stored

  • No usage analytics or tracking are used

  • No advertising identifiers (IDFA) are used

  • No third-party SDKs that collect data are included

3. Data stored on your device only

IKIgai stores the following locally on your iPhone only — it never leaves your device: your favourite quotes, any cards you create in Customise, your notification settings (frequency, preferred topics & moods), display preferences, and the current day's scheduled quotes. This is stored using Apple's standard on-device mechanisms and is not synced to any server or shared with any other app.

4. Optional Wikipedia content (“More”)

When you tap “More” on a card, IKIgai may fetch a short summary and image directly from Wikipedia for extra context. This request is made only when you tap “More”, sends only the relevant article title, and includes no personal information about you. Wikimedia may log standard technical request data under its own privacy policy. The rest of the app works fully offline.

5. Notifications

IKIgai can send local reminders — a gentle daily quote. They are scheduled entirely on your device, involve no server, and can be turned off in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings → Notifications → IKIgai.

6. Third-party services

IKIgai uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or data-collection services, and no backend servers of its own. The only outbound request is the optional Wikipedia fetch described above.

7. Children's privacy

IKIgai does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children. Since no personal data is collected, the app is safe for all ages.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a future version, the updated policy will be published at this URL and the “Last updated” date revised.
